Agnes of God, by John Pielmeier
November 23, 24, 25 2017

Woolpit Drama Club was given special permission to bring Agnes of God, by American playwright John Pielmeier, a powerful and electrifying drama to audiences in Suffolk, in advance of new Broadway and West End productions in 2018.

The play won two Tony awards when it was first produced on Broadway in 1979.

This challenging play about a novice nun, Sister Agnes, who gives birth but insists that the child was the result of a virgin conception, was brought to life with superb performances by three actresses, Paquita Savill (Agnes), Caroline Brooks (the court-appointed psychiatrist Dr Martha Livingstone) and Val Mayhew (Mother Superior, Mother Miriam Ruth)
